Mr Yuck Adventuers in JPEG Land

Image
The Mr Yuck Series A while back I was making a video exploring the early Gamemaker scene , inparticular when 3D had just been implemented into the engine so people were making impressive, yet low quality 3D games. One game I played during this video was Mr Yuck Gets on the CRAZY BUS .  Truly an experience to remember. Whilst digging up this master art to share with someone, I found that there was not simply one Mr Yuck game, there were eleven. A goldmine of amateur indie game trash. Mr Yuck Adventuers in JPEG Land gained notoriety for it's vivid graphical style mR YUCK GOEZ T0 jpeg LAND! I have been known to use JPEG compression and patended image crappification™ in my games before, so Mr Yuck Adventuers in JPEG Land struck a chord with me. I had to play it. You play as the titular Mr Yuck, a stickman with a green head who has lost his crown. He's also wearing a crown throughout the entire game. The famous blind maze level from Mr Yuck Adventuers in JPEG Land has gone down in ...

Work at McDonald, the Authentic Fast Food Worker Experience

Image
Contrary to what people told me when I was younger, I never did end up flipping burgers at McDonalds. I have missed out on some valuable life experience. Fortunately developer developer at 127 has come along to provide us with a way of working at McDonalds from the comfort of our own homes with 'Work at McDonald'. We of course all know that the singular of 'McDonalds' is 'McDonald', which is why this game is not called 'Work at McDonalds'. You can tell this game is going to be good because even the main menu shows an exciting array of options, such as 'wallper', 'Gamepass' and 'Burger King'. wallper You start the game with a ludicrous amount of money and a severely negative customer happiness, just like my local McDonald. This game is very challenging, as the first customer is always invisible for some reason. This means you can't see their order and must blindly try to guess until you hit on the correct item. After you'v...

Mouse's Playground, An Affront To All Mice Everywhere

Unity The rise of game engines such as Unity have democratised game development. Now, at least theoretically, anybody with enough drive can make their own indie games. To mixed success. Unity has had the misfortune of becoming synonymous with many, many bad games. Merely seeing the Unity splash screen is enough for some people to prepare themselves for an unpolished, poorly executed adventure in amateur game design. Mouses Playground is a game that falls firmly into this category. Mouses Playground I like to send this game to unsuspecting friends as a sort of prank. This is probably why nobody talks to me anymore. You play as an MS Paint drawing of a mouse. The goal is to collect cheese. I like the lonely vibes of Mouses Playground. You are isolated in this world, with bold coloured structures surrounding you. Somber piano music plays, reminiscent of The Sims 1 soundtrack. There is no rush. No danger. Just you and 100 cheeses. Mouse gazes upon the landscape When the player attempts to ...
